Head of School
My name is Kristin Patterson and I am the Head of School at Central Montessori Academy. I started at CMA in 2006 as an elementary teacher. In 2012 I was the Assistant Head of School and then in 2013 became the Head of School. I graduated with my undergraduate degree from Xavier University in Elementary Early Childhood Education and hold a certificate from the American Montessori Society in Montessori Elementary 6-9 year olds. I completed a graduate degree in Biological Science Education from Miami University. CMA gives children wonderful outdoor and science experiences through the natural playground and nature trails on the 5 acre campus. CMA is an amazing school with a dedicated staff that goes the extra mile to help children love learning.
Admissions Director and Office Manager
My name is Cheri Hauer and I am the Admissions Director and Office Manager at Central Montessori Academy. I started my journey with CMA in January, 1996 with the enrollment of our oldest son, Jake. After volunteering in the office for a year, I was offered a full time position as the Administrative Assistant. I am so thrilled to again serve this amazing community of students, families and staff for my 17th school year! I truly have THE BEST JOB in the world! All three of our children are graduates of CMA. Jake (23) graduated from UC with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, is a soldier in the U.S.Army and currently deployed in Kuwait. Cara (19) is attending Cincinnati State focusing on Education. She also works at CMA in the Upper Elementary classroom as an assistant and works with our Aftercare students as well. Nick (14) is a freshman at Clark Montessori and has found a love for drumming, hockey and bowling this year! Our family loves CMA and is so appreciative of the amazing education and love of learning that our children/family continues to receive.
My name is Rob Reed and I am the Business Manager at Central Montessori Academy. I joined the staff in 2016 but have been a part of the CMA family since 2011 when my son, Nathan, began attending school here. Not having been previously exposed to the Montessori approach, I quickly discovered that this philosophy, combined with the unique dedication of the CMA teachers, staff and parents, had created an environment where children thrive and truly enjoy their time at school each day. CMA kids are confident, independent and eager to learn and to take on new challenges. The joy and satisfaction I’ve experienced watching my son and his classmates grow and develop in their time at CMA is difficult to put into words.
I hold a B.A. in Business Administration and a minor in Psychology from Hanover College. Prior to joining CMA, I spent over 16 years in various roles in the banking and finance industry. I’m so lucky to get to spend my days with amazing people, both faculty and students, while using my financial skills and background to support an organization and cause I’ve grown to care about deeply. Central Montessori Academy is a special place filled with incredible people and I couldn’t be more blessed to be a part of it.
Admin and Pre-Primary Assistant
My name is Cara Hauer and I work with the Administration team and assist in the Pre-Primary classrooms. I also work with Mckenzee Wilkins in the after school care program. I am a graduate of CMA (attending pre-6th grade) and Clark Montessori, and yes the last name is the same as Ms. Cheri’s, my mom, neither of us could leave CMA.. I am currently attending Cincinnati State working on my education degree hoping to be teaching in the philosophy I love so dearly… Montessori. What I love about teaching is that everyday is a new experience and each child have their own lessons to teach us teachers. CMA is special in my eyes because I have seen every side of it and never imagined that I would make this full circle. I feel as if I am finally in the right place surrounded by a loving and welcoming family.
