Job Description- Co-Lead Toddler Teacher or Toddler Assistant

School: Private non-profit Montessori toddler (18 months) through 6th grade
Job Status: Full – Time (Aug- May)
Proposed Hours: 40 hours per week
Starting Date: August 2024

Purpose: The purpose of the Co-Lead Toddler Teacher or Toddler Assistant is to assist in the implementation of the Montessori toddler curriculum and to support the learning development of children ages 18– 36 months.

Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Education Level: Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or Bachelor Degree; Montessori credential for Co Lead is required.
    • Experience Desired: At least two years of experience working with toddlers. Experience working in a Montessori classroom for Toddler Teaching Assistant is desired but not required.
    • Advancement to Co-Lead Teacher -must have or obtain certification in Montessori Infant-Toddler AMS certified program.

Essential Function/ Skills:

    • Understands child development and supporting the young child ages 18- 36 months
    • Has the ability to communicate effectively through both writing and speaking
    • Establishes a professional and supportive relationship with parents, students and colleagues.
    • Participates in ongoing professional growth and continually learns new skills to support the community of Central Montessori Academy.
    • Records attendance and reaches out to parents about attendance as needed.
    • Supports and implements rules and regulations of the classroom.

Other Skills:

    • Supporting with potty training
    • Kindness, willingness to help out with other school tasks as needed .
    • Supports the building of community and collaboration
    • Creates a welcoming environment for parents and students.
    • Respects of others

Job Description-Director of Admissions

Objectives

  • Perform his/her services faithfully, enthusiastically and satisfactorily at the School
    during normal working hours on regularly scheduled school days, and at other
    times as specified below.
  • The Director of Admissions agrees to devote full time
    attention during normal working hours to his/her duties as the Director of
    Admissions for the School.
  • Perform admission duties under the supervision of the HOS.
  • Maintain professional behavior which is appropriate both in the field of education
    and which supports our school in particular, as a viable educational institution.
  • To abide by all rules, regulations and policies as written in the Employee
    Handbook and shall comply with all relevant statutes, regulations and ordinances
    of the State of Ohio.

Strategic Planning & Leadership

  • Maintain a comprehensive admissions plan that aligns with the schools mission,
    vision and enrollment goals
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract a diverse student body
  • Oversee the admissions budget to ensure efficient allocations of resources to
    support recruitment and enrollment activities

  Recruitment & Outreach

  • Engage with prospective families through various channels (not limited to) open houses, school tours, information sessessions, and individual meetings
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and new families addressing questions and concerns throughout the admission process and implement programs to help new families transition smoothly into CMA
  • Efficient communication enhancing the benefits of an authentic Montessori education and the unique qualities of CMA
  • Develop a relationship with the larger community outside of CMA to promote the school and attract potential students
  • Represent CMA at school internal and external events
  • Organize with appropriate admin and committee support for events that showcase the school

Applications & Enrollment Management  

  • Efficient use and management of TADS -the tuition management system and collaboration with appropriate administration team to help maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prospective and enrolled students 
  • Create and implement clear policies and procedures through the application process to ensure all admissions activities comply with the school’s policies and any relevant regulations or guidelines 
  • Uphold the highest standard of integrity and confidentiality in all admissions process and interactions with families
  • Prepare regular reports for the Head of School and Board of Trustees, outlining enrollment trends, challenges and opportunities

Marketing & Communications

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Administration team to support creation and distribution of admissions, promotional and campaign materials
  • Ensure consistent and effective messaging about the school’s mission, programs and benefits
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the school’s visibility and reputation
  • Engage with prospective families through various channels (not limited to) open
    houses, school tours, information sessessions, and individual meetings
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and new families

Line of Authority

  • The Director of Admissions is responsible to the Head of School (HOS). The HOS is responsible for recommending to the board the hiring, non-renewal of contracts, and firing of staff. 
  • The HOS is responsible for yearly goal setting, observation and evaluation of the Director of Admissions, and is available for on-going communication and/ or problem solving. 
  • The Director of Admissions is responsible for meeting student paperwork requirements for state licensing regulations, procedures and presenting evidence of meeting these requirements to state inspectors.
