Volunteer

Throughout the school year, there are many opportunities to volunteer at Central Montessori Academy. Having lots of volunteers is essential to the success of the school and to creating a wonderful and fun school year.

Talents and Interests

Do you bake, build, garden, write, or enjoy cultivating other skills? We maintain a Time and Talents list so we can call on people when there are specific tasks to be done, or specialized skills needed. Thank you for sharing your time and talents with our community.

Benefits of Volunteering

Volunteering is a wonderful way to meet other parents, get to know your child’s teachers and friends, and get connected with CMA. It is also an easy way to contribute to your child’s educational achievements. When parents get involved in their children’s education, it pays off. Research shows that children whose parents are actively involved are more likely to:

  • Adapt well to school
  • Attend school regularly
  • Have better social skills
  • Show improved behavior
  • Graduate and go to college

Parent involvement is great for children, great for teachers, and great for the school! We welcome grandparent volunteers as well!

If you are interested in volunteering, there are a few ways to get started:

Event-Based Volunteering

CMA uses SignUpGenius to request volunteers, organize our help, and communicate with our volunteers. When we are in need of volunteers to help with events or other projects, parents are notified on Transparent Classroom and by e-mail with a link to the volunteer sign-up page. Review the volunteer opportunities and select which one works best for you.

To find CMA’s current Sign Ups, search for opportunities created by dott@centralmontessoriacademy.com.

General Opportunities

CMA offers general volunteer opportunities such as helping the teachers make copies, material making at home, and animal care over school breaks. Please contact Denise Ott at dott@centralmontessoriacademy.com, or call at (513) 742-5800.
