Activities

CMA’s well-rounded Montessori education includes enrichment programs and extracurricular activities. From weekly art and music classes that foster creativity and artistic growth, to a variety of after-school clubs and community events, we provide students with diverse opportunities to explore their interests, develop new skills, and connect with peers in meaningful ways.

Our enrichment studios are designed to foster creativity, self-expression, and a love for the arts.

    Enrichment

We provide weekly art and music classes for our students in kindergarten and above.

In art, students explore various mediums and techniques, developing their artistic skills while learning about different cultures and art history. They will progress from studying line and color early in the year, to perspective, composition, and narrative by the end.

Our music program introduces students to a wide range of instruments, rhythms, and genres, encouraging them to explore sound and develop an appreciation for music. We also provide space to our music teacher who provides private piano, voice & clarinet lessons.

Our other special studios are: Gym, Spanish, Theatre, Reading, and Sign Language.

These programs are a cherished part of our educational approach, providing students with a well-rounded experience that nurtures their natural curiosity, creativity, and a respect for process.

    mm-quotes

If a child finds no stimuli for the activities which would contribute to his development, he is attracted simply to ‘things’ and desires to possess them.”

    Extracurriculars

Extracurricular activities give students the opportunity to explore and expand areas of interest, reaching beyond the classroom. Some of the after-school clubs we have offered in the past are: Coding Club, Art Club, Science Club, Yoga Club, Soccer Club, and Nature Club.
Some activities are led by parent volunteers, while others are organized by staff members. These are typically after school or early evenings. Some past activities have been playground & popsicles, meet up at a certain location to play or do a certain activity (trampoline place, skating, park, etc.), ice-cream treat, game time, etc.

Currently we offer Chess Club on Mondays and Webby Dance
on Fridays.

When available, activities run quarterly and are available to any CMA student for an additional fee. Any child who is signed up for the extended day program is able to attend clubs of their choice for free.

We also host a BookFair and have Fundraisers such as the Spring Gala, Student Sleepovers with teachers, Parents Night out, and more.
